(He felt as though the floor had just dropped out from beneath him as he watched those beautiful soft eyes go dark and steely on him. He should have known.. nice guys always finished last - his father never missed a chance to remind him of that fact and he was beginning to think it was true. For a long moment he looked as though he was going to try to argue with her, to plead his case as though he just might be able to convince her that he was really acting on his feelings and not because his father had told him to do this. Besides, regardless of what she believed, he was there to rescue her. But then, all of a sudden his grey eyes hardened a bit and his stance tensed.. if she could believe he made all this up then maybe she didn't really like him anyways.) Wallace. (He said in an even tone, looking at her with confidence and honesty in his eyes.. he was a proud man, and wasn't about to start sucking up to anyone.. if she was going to believe in him then she would damn well do it on her own terms.. he just hoped it was soon, cause he was really starting to need to see her smile at him.)
