(The footsteps behind him were heavy and he knew they were Kyrian's from the way he favored his right side, there was a bullet wound in his right hip that made him limp a little.. and then he heard Gia's soft breathing, the woman had a bit of a cold and was out of breath from running.. he could smell the sweat and the lingering scent of the guns.. the window to the right of him was open a little bit and a ladybug was crawling demurely up the windowsill.. Shay hadn't been eating enough over the past few weeks and she had been kept in solitary, her eyes weren't moving behind the lids in the normal manner, they had gone steady from days of staring and doing nothing.. there were so many scents, sights and sounds that were invading his senses and overwhelming him. The hand that laid on his shoulder was Kyrian's and it thrust him back into the here and now, causing him to flinch and move finally, crossing the few feets distance between him and Shay, dropping to his knees and setting the gun at his side to reach for her, laying his hands on her cheeks as though to steady her.) Shaylin.. baby.. (He murmured softly, brown eyes searching as he pleaded for her to come back to him.. he could smell the fear on her.)

She let out a low breath, her eyes slowly opening as she finally focused her eyes on him. For a second she looked disbelieving, as if it was just a figment of her imagionation that was placing him there in front of her. One shaky hand lifted to rest against his cheek for a moment, her eyes searching over his before she let out a strangled cry and wrapped her arms around him tightly, hiding her face in the curve of his neck and inhaling the scent of him, her husband, the love of her life who had come to rescue her just like she knew he would. There were no words to describe her feelings right then and if she had tried, she probably wouldn't have a voice since she hadn't used it hardly at all in three weeks.
