(He laughed a little and nodded as she asked about his precious desert.. it was like asking the pope if he wanted to say prayer at dinner.. he could eat that stuff all night long and still want more. When she served him he thanked her quietly and again sat back in his chair to enjoy his desert in a more casual manner than before. He was a strict traditionalist.. but there was a point when even his own morals got on his nerves. He watched her as she ate, enjoying the way she took such small bites.. like a finicky bird of some sort, it was actually pretty endearing to him and made him feel more protective of her than he had thought possible. He wanted to make sure that she never went hungry again, that no one ever laid an unjust hand or turned a maliced eye on her ever again.) No, I only speak gaelic. It can be annoying in america, but the hotel staff speaks it and I have a few interpreters for when it becomes necessary to venture outside my comfort zone. (He smiled then, making it evident he was trying to lighten the mood.. he rarely kept things so serious.. it just seemed to him that being around her had made him feel more adult than he had in a long long time, made him feel like he needed to step up and be the man that a woman like her would need.)
