(He had a way of letting a situation escalate around him until someone posed a weakness that he could delve into, his laziness in conversation made him an excellent source of control in a tense situation. During this one, he let Shay get in Kyrian's face because his partner deserved it, for letting his fear break out into the conversation and for trying to take away the happiness of the situation. He had seen how Kyrian's eyes had moved back and forth from him to Shay and back and knew that Kyrian was worried he would quit the force. He was pretty much all the other man had in life, and he felt like a brother and best friend to him.) We're both going to retain our job's and lifestyles, but I think we both believe it is about time this happened. It just makes so much sense, we've been in love for as long as I can remember, and it will be easier for me to get time off to see her if I am married to her. We have discussed possibly keeping the name change secret, at least until I am sure there will be no threat, and surveilance will be a good idea as well. (His voice remained calm through the whole oration, since he knew that Shay was a bit tense now. He got to his feet, moving up behind her to kiss her cheek and rest his hands at her stomach as he slipped his arms around her for reassurance.)

(He had thought that receiving a comforting touch from a woman during a tense situation would only make him weak, but from Haylie it had the reverse effect. Taking a seat next to her and having her hand soothe over his hair took his focus from his worry and calmed him until he rationalized what was going on. Remy wasn't leaving, he was just getting married.. perhaps things wouldn't change at all.. and he would have his friend - he considered Shay a friend already - around more often.) Well then. (He quieted, looking at the pair of them in a brooding fashion before a lopsided smile crept up.) Little late to say congrats, then eh? (He said, his aussie accent popping out in full force.)
