Blame it on what you've been through
Blame it on what you're into
Blame it on your religions
Blame it on politicians

Look what a mess we've made of love
Look what a mess we've made
We've got ourselves to blame
Look what a bomb we've made of love..

We are the fuse and ammunition..

(It had been a wonderful and frightening week for Agent Jester, a week he had spent in the shadow of his partner's love and marraige, and in the bed of a woman who even still made his heart kick over when he caught her scent. Four days after Remy and Shay's wedding, the couple had left Washington D.C. to return to their hometown, a place that Kyrian had never heard of and had no real desire to find. He and Haylie 'Ice Queen' Lambert had spent the night together on that last day.. and he had a feeling even when he was chasing nurses around in the nursing home he would still remember that night like it had just happened.. he would still feel the sweat against his skin, taste the sweet taste of her body and feel her writhe against him as they reached completion together in a way that made his body pull tight even as he stood at the bar and ordered another beer. A girl at the end of the bar caught his eye and gave him a sultry smile that he only half-heartedly responded to. He could still see the almost disappointed look in Haylie's eyes when he had said 'S'been fun' to her that Friday afternoon, the last day of the convention. She had looked at him like she might have expected something more, but like perhaps she wouldn't have known what to do with more had he known how to give it to her. He had cleared his throat, she had muttered the words back and he hadn't seen her since. He had stayed behind at the hotel to run through some leads he had run across and had ended up at the bar after a day of reading files because he couldn't shake her from his head, couldn't possibly spend another moment missing her without wanting to die. He ran his hand back through his shaggy hair as the blonde caught his eye again and he smiled back this time. Perhaps he just needed a distraction.. that might clear his head. Maybe what had happened between the two of them had been a fluke.. she had left after all.. if it had been so important she could have said something to him. When the woman approached him and asked if he wanted to spend some time with a real woman, he fought the urge to roll his eyes and say something rude, and instead wordlessly took her hand and went back to his room with her. He hadn't the heart to take her into the room he and Haylie had shared, where her scent still clung to the pillows and helped him sleep at night.. so he had led her into the room Remy had used, and there he went to work erasing a bit of her from his mind- though deep down he had a feeling it wouldn't work.)
