Subject: Jeff Martin solo due soon...

http://www.jeff-martin.net/index2.html

Former Tea Party frontman is releasing his solo album, Exile and the Kingdom, on April 11th (in Canada).

Not sure who here gives a crap about this besides Leo, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

I'm curious, to say the least. It seemed obvious to me that he was the creative core of the band, so I expect great things here (although, I do imagine I'll miss Mr. Burrows' drumming. That guy was a beast).

hey cool I love the Tea Party. I saw an interview with Jeff recently and he was talking about rock music today and he seems to think it really doesn't exist. With that attitude I'm sure this will rock! I wonder if it will have that Tea Party sound?

If anyone gets to listen to this, how about a review? I'm guessing the album won't be available here, so not much chance of me hearing it. I haven't bought any Tea Party since Transmission, but I love those first three albums, and the guys were kick-ass live.
It will be interesting to see what direction Jeff takes with this new album.

Thanks Twan. I've been keeping tabs and i know he was working with Ritesh Das. I'm thinking it will sound very much like the mellow side of the tea party, perhaps even balladish. I could be wrong. I'm anxious to hear it though.

Hey tg, if I can't order it online, I may need a canadian to send me the cd....

I've listened to Exile and the Kingdom a few times now, and I have to say its classic Jeff Martin. Obviously, its very Tea Party, and he uses similar themes throughout. One time, I expected another Tea Party song as the next track. Having said that, I do love the cd, but I am biased.

I was going to list standout tracks, but I like 'em all, so here's the track lising:

Would be Calling
Butterfly
Where do we go from here
Daystar
Lament
Angeldust
Black Snake Blues
Stay Inside of Me
The Kingdom
Good Time Song
