1. Trade to raise income... just don't rely on your tax income.

2. Make some friends. Quickly.

3. Do not fire at player ships over trading planets. This is an unspoken rule. If you do, you will in all likelohood become the target for just about every player in the game.

4. Killing DLS is a good thing (it also gives you points, which as your points get larger, gives you special abilities)

5. Do a SP and a SS every turn. It's a cardinal sin if you do not do this.

6. Be very careful if you intend scanning someone. Almost every player takes exception to being scanned (this is especially for you, player 14)

7. Build Monitors in order to build more ships.

8. Do not strip all the industry from your Origin Planet (by building mega ships costing lots of industry), is you can afford not to. Especially if you do not have any Monitors. Otherwise, you will not be able to increase the size of you fleet (since you have no Monitors, and your Battlestation has no industry to build new ships)

9. Train your officers every turn, where possible. At level 4 in a skill, you get a special ability (some of them, pretty nifty)

10. Study the TPs and look for a possible rich market for your trading ships. Better to sell that Ore Type 3 for 1367 credits, than for 340 credits.
