Were you wearing the 1862 model pedometer, or the 1864 model? My research into the Shreveport Depot Archives show that the 1862 model was still in use by the spring of 1864 in Taylor's Army and if it was a 1864 model, they were not issued until late 1864. Also, I find it intersting to note that a LT. was issued a pedometer for they were usually only issued to Majors and above, thus you either took it from a fallen officer or it was a private purchase pedometer.
