Run off the customers?! Are you kidding? I would hope this would bring them in by droves. This is as perfect a spot as you will find for an "immersion event" in a hundred years. You couldn't begin to find this kind of realism on a Hollywood set. This is the real thing, and I envy all of you who will be participating. It's going to be something to remember.
Just one note: Although the locals are friendly and neighborly, as Tom mentioned, don't let on to any of them that you might know where Murrell's Gold is buried. A lot of them have been looking for it for a long time, and they will cut your throat if they think you're going to beat them to it. Nothing personal, mind you, but business is business.
And Tom, about your wife's family: does she have an uncle with one blue eye and one kind of reddish one, with a long scar down the left side of his face, walks with a limp? Because if I recall correctly, he was eyeing my pile of pelts mighty close that night . . .
Steve
