Fort DeRussey is a special place. I remember well spending a long, hot night buzzed by a million mosquitoes while encamped near the old earthworks when we were there for a clean up a number of years ago. I also remember Judge Angelo's good cooking. I am glad this is the focus of the preservation effort for Banks' Grand Retreat. It is a well deserved place of historic value.
