They were poor but tough. Chad Teasley, who will be with us and who was on the 2004 Mansfield march, has an ancestor in the regt as well. One unique aspect of their service is that they spent some time fairly close to home and at several points families remained in close proximity to supply clothing when issue items ran short. Source is Grisamore's book on the reading list - he was the QM of Gray's Brigade for the Red River Campaign and after.
