Hi everyone, Elisabeth here.

I was told there was a thread here about me competing in Miss AL USA and, to be honest, I braced for the worst. (Real talk: this board isn't known for being the most supportive.)

How pleasantly surprised I am to see all of the encouragement, support and love on here! My posting now is to celebrate how this board can and should be used: to share information and bolster the aspirations of young women in our great state. YOU GO, Y'ALL, and keep it up!

I have always strived to make clear that I'm not a secretive person. Speculation never leads to a good place... If you'd like to chat about my experiences and perspectives, just send me a message and we'll catch up!

As I go into competition weekend tomorrow, please know that I'm going with the mindset to simply enjoy the experience and have a fabulous time. My goal of working for Alabama's homeless and impoverished isn't over and I see this as another opportunity to promote Habitat statewide and nationally, with an added goal of opening new doors in media and with my business. I will always go giving my all, and will always be content with where my path leads.

PS - DOE girls, can we have a campfire night soon?? S'mores and can cake on me!
