You can throw that garbage down the drain. How many talents in the top 10 were actually something that was contemporary and that pop culture would stamp their approval on? None of them. Georgia wins, yes her talent was phenomenal but relatable to today's generation, not hardly.

I thought the same thing. Maybe Puccini and Rodgers & Hammerstein are better songwriters than Taylor Swift?

Contemporary and relateable does NOT relate to talent! Don't you get it? It's about the personality! If Meg had done opera, she still would be more relatable and contemporary than Haley Barber and a few of the other contestants at Miss Alabama.

Lay off Hayley, maybe if you got to know her you would be surprised.

You people are so DUMB. The talent has NOTHING to do with it. It's about personality in interview being modern/personable. The talent just needs to be good...period.

Talent has everything to do with it, that's why Gerogia won after such a terrible on stage question. Her talent just scored that much better than the rest of the 7.

I don't care about os question. If her talent was less than stellar, would have still crowned her. We finally have a beautiful and gorgeous M.A. Best beauty since Yolande Betbeze. Makes Miss USA look like a boy. As a man, I don't care if she never opens her mouth, I just want to look at her and watch her. The interest in M.A. hit rock bottom with the public because they expect M.A. to be beautiful, and they have been crowning too many average girls.

There you go again being dumb. SMH

What I meant was:
talent needs to be good. It has NOTHING to do with being contemporary or modern.
Personality and interview is what has to be modern.

It's so sad I have to type this out word-for-word for you.

Talent apparently has nothing to do with anything. Colorado did a monologue and got in top 10. Explain that one! Obviously, interview wins the crown.

You must have both as Colorado did not win. It helped that she is a nurse, tall and gorgeous.

She is not gorgeous; very ugly, plain, and Jodie Foster looking.

I'm sick of hearing about "modern and relatable". That's just more hype from the Miss America Pageant. History repeats itself, what once was "modern and relatable" is no longer "modern and relatable," but give it 10 or 15 years and it will be considered "modern and relatable" again. Same is true with fashion - the stuff that's "modern and relatable" now is just copycat crap gone to the extreme that once was "modern and relatable" in the past. Hype, hype, hype, hype, hype.

Opera is regarded as a trained, skill, art and expression of music... NO SOLO CUP REQUIRED.... Her talent was "OPERA" not a vocal performance....

We have a very talented Miss America.. the FACEBOOK post of her singing LET IT GO with the little girl with downs was just GORGEOUS and touching.... She wasn't my winner as I watched the telecast but I certainly understand her crowning now....
