dearest carolyn, joyce, george ellis, and beloved sada marie, and all the grandchildren and great grand children of aunt adele and uncle george,
our families were friends since before i was born. dear aunt adele, and my mother alice the sisters each of them never had. our fathers true old world buddies in the "new world" making way for their beautiful families...all of them from the picturesque village of douma in lebanon. my family ending up in the 1934 hollywood of the hollywood shop, which as the youngest child of 5, i never visited....but it's legend appears to live on.
my heart is heavy with the loss of dear aunt adele, who taught me so much by the way she lived her life. these beautiful qualities that she passed on to her children live in you and through you, and the next generations.
and my mother, alice, now 95, knowing dear aunt adele since she was born in the tiny village of douma, suffers the loss of her dearest friend, and card playing partner!
their lives and friendship a model to us all. in december when i was with mama, and she and aunt adele managed to speak to each other on the phone long distance, both of them hard of hearing at this point, were clearly communicating the essence of it all, when both of them kept repeating "I Love You!" back and forth to each other, with tears of joy.
our hearts join you in sorrow and the joy of being blessed and touched deeply by knowing ya'll!
