Subject: REMEMBERING MS. ADELE SHAMIS

Many years ago my parents opened a Drive Inn Restaurant in McComb, Mississippi. For the first year of their new business, my mother worked every day and did not need or have a wardrobe to speak of except work clothes. When my mom's mother passed away in Seattle, the news arrived late one night and the flight to Seattle left New Orleans early the next morning. Mom called Ms Shamis at her home and explained the situation. Ms Adele opened the Hollywood shop late that evening and helped my mother select several nice dresses and other items. It was very late when everything was finished but Ms Adele made my mom feel so special and offered such comfort and did not once complain about having her night of rest at home disturbed. I shall always remember that act of kindness. To me, that kind of gesture appears to be a family gene that lives today in her wonderful children. My sympathy is offered to you during your loss. Your mom will be remembered by me and especially by my wife's family, the Kaiglers of Fernwood. May our gracious God comfort you.
James and Judy Lawson,
Houston, Texas
