As you know, I am the first Mongonian to converse with the earth people on their arrival to Mongo, specifically Flash Gordon. It was my duty to arrest him, and his friends, taking them to Emperor Ming's palace. This ultimately resulted in much chaos and problems of all sorts, for both sides. Unbeknownst to many, I did have an option being Emperor Ming's minion as chief commanding officer. I could have left them for the lizards or save them them, arrest and bring them to the palace. I chose the latter.

At times I felt it might have been better to just leave them in the canyon for the lizards...but, I opted to save them by firing a stun ray onto the fighting reptiles. I did what I felt was correct. It seems I did well since apparently, advanced peoples on other worlds with photographic devices recorded some of these events (called serial chapters)and enjoyed watching, listening, writing and talking about them.. to this day it seems!

For information purposes, on Mongo, most marriages are pre-arranged. At times, Emperor Ming can overrule and did while I was on duty patrolling skies over Mongo near the palace. Everything happened quickly and I was not informed (Ming has absolute control and need not notify anyone.) From my days as a youth in Ming's Institute of New Gladiators (school name = MING), I fell in love with a palace maiden's daughter named Zona. She liked my uniform, especially the full armor suit awarded to me for excellence.

A marriage was arranged for later, but owing to my rank, many duties, and travel time, much in the air protecting the palace, it seems paperwork issues arose and Zona was transferred from the main palace to Kala's underwater kingdom to serve as a maiden. I dared not to argue with Ming, though his name appeared on the transfer. I had hoped for some opportunity, and spotted Zona on the televisor in the chaos of the crowd as the flooded city surfaced.

I and some troops were at liberty to make rescues and...well, Zona was rescued, we married quickly on the 13th gong at a small chapel on Mongo, raised a family, and are still happily married for the most part. She does not share my interest though in Flash Gordon blaming him and his friends for her transfer during the chaotic times when the earth people arrived. That aside, decades later, we're fine.

As long as I'm here, I wish to announce an all points alert to my guards to capture Sgt.Time and report to me. He went AWOL awhile back, and his failure to be captured for sentencing is a bad reflection on us. Also, things grow worse for him each day. I suggest he turn himself in before it's too late. Word in the palace hallways has it that some wisecrack by Sgt.Time was heard recently concerning shovels. This will eventually reach Emperor Ming, so it's best Sgt.Time surrender, soon.

Sgt. Time may also face the penalty of being deported to Mars and will have to face the wrath of Azura.

"For that, I will turn you into clay and bannish you to the Clay Caves at once!"

Message Alert to Sergeant Time

Sgt.Time...if you are reading this, it would behoove you to surrender to the captain of my guard on Mongo immediately. If you are on Mars, chances are better than 50/50 Azura's people will find you. You'll wind up in the clay caves to meld in and out of the walls, to laugh without sound, to listen to that spooky song all day on the Marsak, to be issued bars of clay for craft classes, to watch Gumby (TM) repeats on the one televisor in the clay caves, and to do occasional guard duty at the cave entrance in the Valley of Desolation. Most bothersome I understand is the spooky song played all day and night which may drive you mad. Also, I understand as a Clay Man, you might not be able to drink liquids since your insides may turn to mud! Not pleasant. So, it is in your interest to surrender at once. A stratosled operated by remote control awaits you just beyond the clay cave entrance. It will remain for a short time....for TIME.

I received the following message, dropped from overhead by an unknown party clad in Martian Batwings, with instructions for immediate forwarding to Officer Torch and company.

Sergeant Tim

I will not surrender!

Although the prospect of Gumby reruns and clay craft classes does give a wayward enlisted man the jitters!

Sergeant Time
