(He let out his breath in a whoosh as he watched the emotion overcome her face, a soft smile taking over his features as he realized she wasn't upset.. but rather happy. Even for an over perceptive man such as himself, it took a moment for him to relize when tears were happy and when they were sad.) Oh, Shay.. (He murmured to her, a soft laugh escaping him.. He knew exactly what she meant.. he had loved her from the moment he'd laid eyes on her.. they'd shared that simply childhood love that had grown into awkward teenage love and blossomed into the stuff of dreams.. and yet, here he lay with his childhood sweetheart with dreams still in his heart. For them, it was the stuff of fairy tales.. nothing was out of reach. He brought his hand up to wipe at her tears, laughing a little.) I still go crazy when I think of the years I wasted in the military. (He hadn't meant to bring it up, but there it was, the elephant in the room. He'd made the single most rediculous mistake of his life in leaving her.. but then who was to say that he'd have had anything to offer her had he stayed and played it corporate. He cleared his throat and focused on the feel of his hand on her lower back, up and down, of her breasts flattened against his bare chest as he held her so close and the tickle of her breath at his neck. Lord he felt ashamed of himself for his behavior with her.. he should have never left her wondering all those years.. He made a soft sound in his throat, turning his head a little and nuzzling his cheek against hers as he held her. He'd made a lot of mistakes in his life.. but marrying her and making Chase.. well, they made up for everything in his book.)
