(He was, by now, rather used to these sorts of encounters with Haylie. They had a sort of bother-sister open relationship.. which basically meant that Haylie said whatever the hell she wanted to him and he basically took it for what it was. He wasn't the kind of commander to tell his people to keep their thoughts to themselves, he was of the opinion that things needed to be said, to be out in the open and dealt with. Still, there were times when he realized that Haylie had a lot of things to say and that she didn't always think them through before they left her mouth. He smirked as he looked her over, making himself satisfied that she was comfortable. He pretended to look over her monitor when really he was trying not to smirk as she talked to the baby. He wasn't the one being nagged so he was going to keep out of it. It was the way her tone changed when she mentioned him that had him looking over at her, his brows rising.) It is not a silly mission, Haylie.. and I will remind you that it is 'Goddaddy' that brought Kyrian home again and has a police escort bringing him here right now. (He went to her side as the contraction hit her, and though he allowed her to look away and hide her pain, he still held her hand and coaxed her softly to breath. He had been through this with Shay and he knew what to expect because she had told him all about it.) He should be here in.. (He consulted his watch.) ..less than ten minutes. (He said softly as she relaxed back into the bed again. He looked over at Shay, and for the first time he really apologized to her for missing the birth of their son. Sure, he had said it verbally before, but seeing Haylie go through this brought it all into acute focus and the expression on his face said that he now had a better understanding of what he had missed.)
