I don't think it would be taking a chance or a disadvantage. The entry form states it is a choice and I just wanted to know if anyone would change their attire. There has been so much talk about wishing the Mrs could get away from the suit and now it seems no one wants to do it. Points should not be deducted if you don't wear a suit because the description of attire for Mrs interview is a choice of several outfits not just a suit.

Why take a chance -- Anonymous, 19:14:33 04/18/06 Tue [1]

If a director is a good one like Nicky is then I'm sure she will inform the judges of the attire for interview and if the judges are true to picking a deserving winner then they shouldn't take off for a contestant following attire guidelines. I'm sure a judge would much prefer a woman who speaks well and wore a pants/shirt of choice over a woman in a business suit who couldn't communicate. Just be who you are after all that will make you stand out!!

I think that an interview suit is the way to go. Imagine if you are the only one with an outfit .c/i -- Anonymous, 09:53:39 04/20/06 Thu [1]
There are ways to dress up a suit, more accesories etc to make yourself stand out. This is the first year with the new rules. I say don't push it. The Mrs division has always been more subdued and classy. If these judges in our area wanted a young and fashionable queen the winners would have been different for the last few years. We all agree that in general America is looking for a younger queen yet they still have the interview suit. Where as US is looking for the classy well established woman. Do you think that your interview would be as intelligent if you were wearing those new skort pants?

Well all I can say is that the clothes will be the least of the judges worries. Yes it will be scored but unless you are wearing torn rags then a woman who presents herself classy, sophisticated and intelligent will win over the judges no matter what she is wearing. I have spoken to several judges in the last few competitions that I have been in and they have told me that they would prefer to see Mrs in outfits other than a suit. The choice is yours. Just remember whatever you pick that you feel comfortable and confident and you will do fine.

Well I think it's wonderful that the stuffy suit is being done away with. Classy, elegant and stylish is the way to go...and I think married women who compete for this title should also be willing to travel, travel, travel....represent this state and it's awesome people..that should put on the contract....good luck to all....
