Subject: Louisiana America

OK here is my spill on America:
America has been run the same way for the last 5 years and the winners have not come out in the top 15 or 10. Come to think of it has Louisiana ever had a top 10? That should tell you something about picking a winner. I would change the organization of how I run the pageant. Make it more like nationals that way the judges will see what will be representing us at nationals. There is no question on stage, two piece suits are allowed and there is not wrap to work with. That would set off a flag and I would try it to see if it changes anything. Children and age would be told to my judges right out that it should not be a factor in picking a winner. Passion and involvement in family and one outside community involvement should be a must. She doesn't have to spread herself thin by all means but showing some support for others is a great attribute to have. After all shouldn't the winner be the example of a true married woman? Yes we know she is a wife and maybe a mom but what else has she contributed to the world?
so what can it hurt to make some changes? If things don't show an improvement then what have you lost? Making an effort says a lot

If I remember correctly only one of them was over 30 and most of them had some sort of plastic surgery. In fact one of them was only 23! Who in that group would be classified as an example of a true married woman? If state were to emulate itself after nationals these would be the type of women who would be representing LA as well. Is that the direction you are looking for them to go in?

Isn't it the job of the state directors to pick someone that nationals is looking for. Do you think that Miss Louisiana USA should pick an average woman just because she is educated? Even though that is not what they are looking for at Miss USA. I think that the main problem is that woman want the system to change to meet their standards instead of going to the system that would best fit them.

Most of the women complaining would be VERY upset if they changed state to be more like nationals.

I think a lot of it comes down to some not choosing the right system and not wanting to work hard enough to conform to the standards of the system they are in.
