From this morning's SF Chronicle this gem: "In Calgary, Canada, in his first paid post-presidency speech, George W. Bush said he had reached agreement with Crown on a book about how he made his important decisions. The former president used the opportunity to give 'em what they---and Random House---had paid for, his unique command of English. 'I'm going to put people in my place,' he said, 'so when the history of this administration is written, at least there's an authoritarian
voice saying exactly what happened.' You probably meant 'authoritative.'"


(Maybe he really did mean to use "authoritarian." He's on the record as once joking that a dictatorship wouldn't be so bad as long as he was dictator.)
