Subject: Anyone know about investing in gold? (seriously)

I'm concerned about the US market among other things so I'm looking into options.
One of my concerns is what do you do with gold and how do you keep it safe?
My brother used to invest in Krugerands (sp?) and would hide them under the carpet. (idiot ;-))
Well, now I think he was pretty smart...back in the 1970's.
So I just got a package from Morgan Gold about investing in gold.
I just don't know what to do.
My tax man is great...at avoiding me. :-(
I don't have a lot but what I have I want to protect.
Any suggestions?

I've spend enough on bright yellow cat carriers and they are HUGE- they love them. I haven't opened them all - yet.

I love animals but they are so expensive.

I miss Mike so much and I wish I could find someone as special as he was.
I really do. It's not easy being alone.

but sounds like maybe talk to an investment person? They're good at making sure the portfolio is spread well, etc.

Sue K - You are right, I've been talking to someone in CA -he's knows his stuff.
I tried to like financial stuff but I find it boring. If I did, I'd pour myself into learning about it.

Anyway, I mentioned those yellow carriers because it is fascinating to watch these little monster explore them.
I'm going to have to send a couple back - I can easily fit in one and I'm not that small. I should have checked out the sizes. When I ordered cat carriers, I assumed they knew it wasn't for an African safari.
The are pretty nice though.

You didn't tell me the price of a ticket has doubled. ;-)
My brother handed me $5 and I came back with 2 lottery tickets! When did that happen? Last time I played they were a dollar. Inflation..although it could pay off.
I was watching Michael and Kelly this morning and Gelman was trying to expain to her how to pick numbers and hand them to the cashier. It was a riot. I am pretty sure egged it on to look like she didn't know.
I like Michael Strahan but he isn't my Regis.
I wonder if what's his name (her husband) is jealous or just happy she's so successful.
I still miss AMC. It was a part of my life since grade school in IN - I'd run home, eat my sandwich and watch Erica's dramatic acting with Phil, Nick and dozens of others. I really liked Mona. Poor Mona. hee hee
