Subject: where is KWAK when i need her re: mold issues

ok here's the deal: i think i posted something about a $700 plumber bill a month ago. mildewed boxes, etc. in the basement' a few days later i noticed a hairy black substance growing on the acoustic tiles on the ceiling. rut roe. this is gonna be a bigger job than just throwing out some stuff.

i called haz mat; i called insurance. the adjuster met the clean up guy here. what a fuckin deal.. the h/o insurance is so picky about what caused the condition. was the leak exposed or not exposed? what's the definition? are you fucking kidding me? OHHH OKKKKK calm down. it's been 2 weeks, still no word on whether or not the insurance will pay up. called the adjuster today, hey, where ya been? why has it taken two weeks to hear from you when you said it would take 2 days? you came out twice to take photographs... i've been honest.

ok here we go: well, ms jayjay, what we need is an engineer to come out and take a look. WELL FINE, BRING HIM/HER ON!!!!! to find out what caused the moisture to make the basement moldy. so...... in the meantime i'm hacking myself to death every morning when i wake up????? am i going to die?????? will you pay for my burial??????

i told the adjuster today on the phone whether or not their loopholes would help pay for it, it's gotta get outta here. he said yeah, call haz mat back and ask THEM if you're gonna die. do testing to see if the mold is active or inactive... LMAO. what is inactive mold??? lol.... HAYULP!

oh the loopholes are unbelievable... was it concealed or visible? well, tell me, it you had invisible mold, how would you know? unfreakingbelievable. i can't wait for their engineer to get to my house. but it will be next week.

until then,

hackingly yours,

jayjay

[> Good luck, jayjay! We still can't get our school to deal with the mold issue -- Kathy, 21:58:53 10/27/10 Wed [1] (pool-70-105-76-29.chi.dsl-w.verizon.net/70.105.76.29)

I did kind of laugh when I read the line about the invisible mold. One of our standing lines was about when they tested the air, they found there was a higher concentration inside the building than outside. That prompted one of the board members to spout off..."Do you seeeeeeee any mold?" To which one of my friends responded, "Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there." When the board would not answer our questions at the board meetings, we discussed getting t-shirts that said, "Just because you can't see us, doesn't mean we aren't here." Ah, mold humor.

[> [> We used to make up all kind of ideas to put on t-shirts -- Kathy, 03:41:24 10/28/10 Thu [1] (pool-70-105-76-29.chi.dsl-w.verizon.net/70.105.76.29)

I bought a button maker and just put some of our ideas on the buttons. It helped relieve some of our stress. Mold humor. A favorite line of one of my friends is "May as well laugh as cry." She says it a lot.
