Subject: Sending prayers & lots of love

Boy, my Dad started having strokes when he was about 70. He had them until he passed away. The first stroke seemed to be the most devistating because of the stigma of a "stroke". Dad recovered pretty well after each stroke, and with each one, they found somethings else "wrong" with him that the MDs fixed.

I think the first stroke was the scariest, but Dad bounced back and started driving again. The ones after were probably worse but with the right help, he recovered. He had the most positive therapists that did absolute wonders for him. His speech therapist was a freakin' genius. His PT was a PT to the stars and Dad really liked that!

Also, if I recall correctly, there was one time when Dad went to the ER and they said you are "having" a stroke, not had, and they had to wait & see when it was over to properly assess him & see what he lost that time.

Sending only positive thoughts, much love & prayers.

I'm sorry you're all going through this. Your dad is still young, and I would think an excellent candidate for more of a recovery than most. I know it sounds corny, but with encouragement, a person can beat many things. With all of you rallying around him and cheering him on, he will regain his strength--both physically and mentally. And, of course, you know he and all of your family have our thoughts and prayers. Mine included.

Joseph
