In reply to: keith 's message, "they think you live. you die. thats it. nothing else. and i just can't firgure that out. i mean i think that maybe my christian friends have something i don't......." on 09:13:30 04/28/06 Fri

Not one who will TRY to convert you - just one who will talk with you and listen to you - you may have to visit a lot of churches to find one like that - I wish I knew which church my freinds brother is at in NYC - but I think they just moved him and he is in one of the poor neighborhood, and I mean REALLY poor - you know how those are in NYC. That is why I thought he might be a good person to talk to - He is a Catholic Priest - many Christian ministers - well, they don't all consider Catholics christians! But I KNOW MIchael would be happy to talk to you about all your questions without trying to persuade you that one aspect of the religeon is better that another - he is the oldest of six or seven kids and my friend is like 20 years younger than him and he is still closer to him than his other brother - give you an idea what kind of guy "Father Sepp" is??? If you want I can find out where his church is... it is a start, you need to talk to someone - someone who will listen and try to explain and help but not recruit! Maybe invite you to a service so you can see what it is like or even just invite you to a youth group event to see what that is like!

You could also ask that boy at your school which church he goes to and one sunday morning GO - no one has to know, just go and see what it makes you FEEL! NO one can give you a final answer but yourself!

It is a LONG journey you are starting on Keith - it took me many years to become firm in my beliefs - not in God, just everything else that comes with it - there are a lot of difficult questions where you are right now - and to find those answers you may need to SEARCH! And visiting churches and temples and mosques - you will find that there are many people of many religeons with the same feeling inside - I know I am never alone, just because what I believe isn't the same as others it doesn't make that any different - I just carry who I call the Creator within me at all times - when I am sad I talk and know he listens - it is the same feeling.

That is why talking and looking around are so important! You need to find what will bring YOU peace - not what brings someone else peace! Good luck with the journey! I hope you find the peace you are looking for - and you need to start the journey by looking inside yourself and figuring out why you feel like you are missing something - if you are distressed, that won't go away because of a religeon, you have to find peace about yourself and with your self before anything else can bring you THAT kind of peace! :) F
