Date Posted: 20:05:31 07/07/08 Mon I am not even sure where to begin! Amber, Blake and I returned home this evening from a fabulous week at AMTC. As most of you know, I am the Director of a group from Jacksonville, Orlando and also our Valdosta groups. In all, we had approximately 120 compete under our direction. It was a crazy busy week. I'm sure all three groups thought I was being cheesy when I said in the beginning of the week that they would all be one big family by the time we left but that is just what happened. We were the largest group there and we cheered the loudest!! I can hardly speak right now. This year was different as they decided not to give Individual Awards for each category. I am competitive so it was not my favorite decision!! Ha! Instead, they awarded 14 Overall Awards. I brought home 7 of those!! WOW!! There were over 800 participants competing so this is unreal!! My very good friend, Marion Webb, brought home the other 7!! Amazing!! Each Overall Award had between 3 and 15 finalists. I had finalists in all categories. Not only were we the largest group, but the most talented!! Several have some very exciting things happening this week. Ashley Varner and Taylor Eakin have plans to be in NYC for the remainder of the summer. Both will be signed to Generation Model Management. Several others have decisions to make!! :O) More news to come!! I could not do this job without my incredible assistants!! Amber and Blake were AMAZING this week. They both taught two Runway workshops, answered text messages from 120 parents, answered emails, helped dress more than 20 participants for Creative Runway, and did not sleep the night before callbacks. We are so blessed to have such amazing instructors!! We missed Aldine (she had finals this week) and Lori and Kelsey were competing and even helped while competing!! We will have the group picture up soon! I am going to try to post the other two group pictures all at the same time so you can see our extended family! Thank you all for supporting this group and their parents. We are very excited to prepare the next group for Winter AMTC!! If you are interested, please let me know!! Our first meeting will be very soon! Congratulations to the following Valdosta finalists: Gabby Garner: Overall Child Singer Finalist: Gabby was also chosen by the agents to sing in the Talent Show attended by over 2,000 people. She was incredible! Ashley Varner: Overall Child Model Finalist Taylor Eakin: Overall Child Model Finalist Hali Guess: Overall Commercial Model Finalist Nathan Guess: Chosen to sing and play the guitar at the Talent Show! He has many fans!! :O) Taylor Thomas: Spirit Winner Holly Bennet: Overall Teen Petite Fashion Model Finalist Lindsay George: Overall Fashion Model Finalist I am certain ALL of our participants were very close to being finalists. I know the Overall Finalists were all very close to being Overall winners. From Jacksonville and Orlando, we won Overall Mature Fashion, Overall Child Actor, Overall Female Commercial Model, Overall Singer, Overall Dancer, Overall Male Model, and Overall Male Commercial Model.
