Hi, there is one thing that you mentioned about Propecia (finasteride) that is dangerous... not sexual dysfunction per se but the teratogenic (·îL) effect: it can cause your unborn baby crippled for life should your wife become pregnant! I would suggest you or your wife to take extra precaution in terms of contraception while you are taking Propecia, and, if you 2 decided to have baby, stop Propecia for at least 6 months prior.

Now going back to your ED problem. The most common cause is, as you have read in the article, not related to Propecia use but stress (and alcohol use). Ask yourself, are you running a stressful life at work / in the family? Are you using alcohol to relieve stress? These 2 are the biggest ED attributions. As far as I know, most Propecia users deny ED (pretty much agreeing with your 1.9% figure) but you can do a "trial and error" and stop Propecia (for, say, 2 months) and see if your ED problem would resolve spontaneously. If it did, then Propecia is the culprit. If not, it is "something else" that's causing your ED.

In terms of management, you have to stay away from stress and alcohol (easier said than done, I know). You can also try your "stop Propecia" trial and error. Finally, you can seek help from psychology / sexual psychiatry counselors who are the experts in managing ED.

Good luck!
