Subject: Re: What about Ron Kolek being implicated as the infamous "DUH"?
In reply to: Sharon Dupont 's message, "Re: Grinder Pump Debate" on 13:54:20 10/10/01 Wed

Check out the other Dracut forum, www.voy.com/24485/

After you get on that, click onto Archieve 1, then scroll down to the heading, "Grinder pump", and then the sub-head, "The Meeting" by DUH. That particular posting was sent to that forum on Friday, 8/17/01, which was the day after the sewer commissioners meeting.

That meeting was not publicly broadcasted prior to that posting, and even the Lowell Sun wasn't as detailed on some of the events which took place as was written in that commentary. The only people who were present at the high school library for that sewer commissioners meeting were: the media, some of the residents of Forest Park Road, the sewer commissioners and Ron Kolek working the camera for the cable access station.

Out of the process of elimination, who do you suppose DUH could possibly be?

The media does their own thing for their employer, and the Forest Park Road residents have enough common sense to stick to their guns and fight for their gravity pump station. Since the commentary was mostly slanted in favor of the sewer commissioners, that only leaves the aforementioned board and Ron Kolek, as being DUH.

DUH starts off this commentary, "'The Meeting' was no meeting of the minds..." DUH goes onto say, ..."It just amazed me how much misinformation, rumors and miscommunication there was there!..."

Now, I don't know about you, but I just can't imagine somebody like Mike Buxton, Greg Dillon or the other two sewer commissioners, running home on their computer, hooking up onto the Internet, to post political commentaries about events or whatever on these town cyberspace forums---especially using the alias of DUH.

You might be asking here, so what if Ron Kolek is DUH, a lot of people post comments on these internet forums using pseudonyms?

The difference is, Kolek wants to moderate this debate and he's supposed to be unbiased or neutral on the issue. If you read the aforementioned posting on the other web site, it would not be wise from the perspective of the Forest Park Road residents seeking a gravity pump station to have Ron Kolek as your moderator.

Mr. Kolek can rant and rave all he wants about how the Forest Park Road residents, "chickened out" of the debate with the sewer commissioners, however, I think most reasonable people who look at Ron Kolek as being, "biased, slanted, and in no position to serve as a moderator for this type of debate!"

God Bless America,

Horizontal Harry
