Subject: Can anyone explain this?

How can you win casual wear, when the paperwork clearly states "It has to be something you would wear to school". One winner at Shining Stars won casual wear and it clearly was not wearable to school??

How can you wear a semi glitz or glitz dress and win high titles when the paper work clearly states "No Semi-Glitz or Full Glitz dresses".
Paper work also states "No Big Hair, Fake Hair Pieces, Flippers, Fake Eyelashes, or Fake Nails are allowed" but yet one of the supreme winners was sitting at one of the tables putting fake nails on, right out where everyone could see it.
When are directors going to start following their own rules!!!!

It is really annoying when the same people keep breaking the rules over and over and getting away with it. If someone would start marking them down for fake hair, nails, or glitz dresses maybe they would stop doing it.

Why would a contestant on stage say that she was older than she is and when mom was confronted said no she's not, she's this age. Where was the birth certificate in this case? Should have automatically been disqualified if she couldn't provide proof.

well that all depends, how much older was she saying she was? My Katie moved up an age group so that I did not have her in the same age division with her next younger sister (my middle dd has sever middle child sindrome). Some systems let you move up an age group just not fall back and compete in the age group younger than you really are.

In this case...the child said she was "10" and she was in the 7 to 9 age group that had no fall back written in the rules. Mom said she was 9.

I think you should be required to show BC's at all pageants. I really think it would help. My daughter is very big for her age so I carry her BC with me just in case anyone questions her age because of her size.

she said she was 10 and her sister was in 10-12

and then she wins the over all
now grant you she might still have but would she have had the scores had she been judged as a 10-12
and then could some of the 7-9's have been better with her in the group she belongs in

Not to sure on this one but she was the supreme winner.

There was a four year old in the 2-3! Did she win? Just curious, but how do you know she was four?

The same stuff happened at the State pageant and everyone was angry, but everyone went running back anyway. The only way Directors will get the message is if people stop doing their pageants.

Nope, not everyone. I didn't go running back. State was enough for us. :)

I know a lot of pageants will let you compete in a higher age group if there aren't a lot of girls in that group, but to fall back I would have a fit. My dd is very small for her age and she is 5, so its hard for her to compete in the 4-6 group but I still wouldn't put her in a younger group. That's not fair to those girls. What happened to this being fun?

We had problems with this system awhile back and have not returned to another since. I am really sorry that you all had such a bad time, remember there are alot of other great pageants out there.:)

I'm sure that I speak for not only myself but many others. We DID have a good time! We loved hanging out with our pageant friends and we had a blast! I think the only thing wrong was the questionable age of 2 girls and the one who won casual wear with the wrong outfit. All pageants have their little issues and I think these are the ones with this one this time. All in all it was good though!

We had a good time as well. Despite the short comings of the pageant we had a great time hanging out with our friends and meeting new ones. But, I'm 100% SURE we will be skipping any further SS pageants. Not when there are so many new pageants coming into the state!!

The point was I believe that it was suppose to be something you wear to school!! I'm sorry, but that wasn't it. And I personally don't care, because my dd wasn't in her age group.

To me the judges should have realized that the girls were not in "pageant" casual wear.
