He wasn't good at the role of comforter, he just didn't know what to do with himself most of the time, he didn't know how to make his own emotions stable much less help someone else come to grips with theirs. His brow furrowed a little, wondering for a moment if maybe he was keeping her to sheltered, if he was being selfish in wanting her all to himself. Shouldn't be doing things like..homecoming and football games? Talking about Prom and limo's and who was going to wear what and go with whom? Instead, she was cuddling in bed in the middle of the evening, crying her heart out because in her dreams she saw him dying. That was great. Way to scar an impressionable young mind, Hunter. His hand ran down his face as he rolled over onto his back, his eyes going to the ceiling. What had Keegan been thinking, giving him this responsibility? Not only had he traumatized her, he was having some seriously impure thoughts about that lithe, young body. Yeah, bet Keegan hadn't been banking on Braden lusting after his baby sister while he took care of her. If he had any sense in him at all he would tell her to gather her things and use the money he definitely had to send her to a prestigious boarding school where she would have everything and anything she needed, friends her own age and no danger of the people she cared about being blow into smithereens by a nutjob. Great.
