] Date Posted: 13:28:38 06/29/06 Thu I'm curious to hear about everyone's "first" Roller moment. That moment when you first discovered them - what were your thoughts, feelings? What drew you to your 'favorite' BCR? For me, it was, as many, when SATURDAY NIGHT hit the U.S. charts. I had never seen them, just heard the song. BEGGED for the album & immediately fell in love when I got it and flipped it over to see them! Always had a thing for the fair haired types so of course, was drawn to Derek... Years later 'the other' fair haired Roller - the other "D" Man, also stole my heart. At a time when 'Rollermania' seemed to wane for others - it only picked up speed for me as the Longmuir /Longmuir / Wood / Faulkner / Faure line up was by far my favorite. Fianlly, just a few short years after that, met my third and final fair haired cutie - a guy who at the time I felt had a strange resemblence to the blond drummer w/ the toothy grin - 'stole' him from my best friend (though to this day she says I got her 'left overs'!) and married him. 21 years later he simply chuckles at my strange and wonderful "obsession." I am so blessed to have been a fan all these years. Have met some of the most amazing people, some of the best friends I've ever had are a direct result of these guys. Short of my wedding day and the birth of my kids, some of my best adult memories are of the friends i've met over the years in 'Rollerworld' [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

| [> Subject: Like Lin, my big sis pulled me in when she brought home one of their albums. I loved hearing WLS (as Tom mentioned on the Alan board) play Saturday Night and listened to the countdown to find where it was each week. I have a thing for guitarists, especially those who look like they have a wicked sense of humor. ;-) But I'm also drawn to sweet, genuine guys. | |

[> Subject: The first time I saw them was in a pic in Tiger Beat. They had on their short trousers and high platform shoes and sweaters. I am totally ashamed to say that I laughed. I could not imagine why they were dressed like that (something I would later do myself!) and when I saw they were going to be on Howard Cosell I phoned my best friend to tell her so we could watch them and see who these funny looking fellas were and what they did. My mouth hit the floor and it's been there pretty much since. In the space of a few seconds I was hooked and I fell for Leslie Richard in an instant. Of course since then I've had crushes on all of them at one point or another. However, I confess I am Al's Gal, Derry's Darling, and Eric's Everlasting! Hm-m-m-m.... does that make me 'Roller tart'? LOL!!!
