EPISODE 16:THE SALEM BITCH TRIALS PART 2
SCENE ONE: Town square. A crowd is gathered around a wooden platform. Ellie is
standing on the platform with her hands tied behind her back and a guard on either side of
her. The rest of the group stands at the back of the crowd.
ELIJAH
This woman is being accused of witchcraft...what proof do you have that she is a witch?
MAN 1
Because of her, there hasn't been enough rainfall for our crops!
ELLIE
What?! I only got here yesterday...you can't blame me for that
ELIJAH
(Whispers to Ellie)
Its better for you to remain silent...arguing will only fuel them into creating more false
accusations
(Ellie looks at him curiously but remains silent)
What reason would anyone have to cause a drought to a town and to themselves? This
cannot be proof of witchcraft
WOMAN 1
I saw her arrive yesterday...it was as though she appeared from thin air!
(Crowd mumbles)
MAN 2
Because of her, my son died last night (Holds his wife who is sobbing)...he was only four
months old
MAN 3
My horse, after four years of faithful service, went mad today! She is the cause of it!
WOMAN 2
She's a witch! Burn her!!
(Crowd starts chanting "Burn her! Burn her!")
ELIJAH
(Gives a disappointed sigh. Turns to look at Ellie)
ELLIE
Do something....please!
ELIJAH
I'm sorry
(Elijah nods to the soldiers who take Ellie's arms and lead her back into jail. Elijah gives her
a sympathetic look as she is taken away)
SCENE TWO: Jail Cell. Ellie is sitting on the ground in her cell. Elijah enters.
ELLIE
What are you doing here? I'm not scheduled to be executed until tomorrow...oh wait, you
already knew that....you scheduled it!
ELIJAH
That doesn't mean I approve of it. (He opens the cell door and sits down across from Ellie) I
have watched many young women be accused of witchcraft and executed. I don't approve of
the way things are handled here
ELLIE
So why don't you change it?
ELIJAH
I'm the town Priest, not the Major. All I can do is try to help innocent woman such as
yourself
ELLIE
You're not very good at it
ELIJAH
One man against an entire town...you do the math
ELLIE
Yeah...well, at least they got it right...
ELIJAH
(Looks at her curiously)
Got what right?
(Ellie looks him in the eye and says nothing)
You mean, you're a witch?
ELLIE
Wiccan actually
ELIJAH
You know what a Wiccan is?
ELLIE
Yeah...you seem unusually knowledgeable on witchcraft for a Priest
ELIJAH
(Smiles)
You're smart
ELLIE
(Leans forward with interest)
So what are you exactly? Are you a warlock?
ELIJAH
(Looks at the guards outside the door and motions for her to keep her voice down)
Not a warlock...
ELLIE
Then what?
ELIJAH
A wizard
ELLIE
You're kidding
ELIJAH
Nope. I became a Priest so that no one would suspect me
ELLIE
I feel bad for the town people....wait, they want to kill me...I don't feel bad for them...they
have it coming
ELIJAH
(Laughs)
You're not like any girl I've ever met. Where are you from?
ELLIE
I could tell you, but you wouldn't believe me
ELIJAH
Now I must know...tell me
ELLIE
The future
ELIJAH
The future? How?
ELLIE
Long story...I'll give you the edited version?
ELIJAH
The what?
ELLIE
Uh...the shorted version. We got ahold of this book, the Necromonicon Ex Mortes
ELIJAH
The book of the Dead? You know about it?
ELLIE
Yeah...wait, how do you know about it?
ELIJAH
I've been studying that book for some time now. You've discovered time travel?
ELLIE
Well, it was more of an accident than a discovery. It sent us jumping through time. When
we finally got home, we screwed ourselves over and ended up jumping again
ELIJAH
What do you mean, 'screwed yourself over'?
ELLIE
Its slang....basically we cursed ourselves
(Elijah nodded)
Anyway, now we can't control it. My friends and I all have to touch it in order to jump
again.
ELIJAH
How many of you are there?
ELLIE
Five, including me
ELIJAH
I'd love to travel with you...
ELLIE
No you wouldn't. We drive each other crazy. And we're always getting into trouble...like me
being burned at the steak for example
ELIJAH
But that hasn't happened yet
ELLIE
But it's still going to happen...unless my friends can rescue me in time...if I'm not there then
they'll be stuck in this time period
ELIJAH
Fascinating...
ELLIE
That's one way of putting it
ELIJAH
Maybe there's some way I could help you
ELLIE
How?
ELIJAH
I'm not sure...maybe I could...
GUARD 1
Elijah, sorry to interrupt, but you're time is up
ELIJAH
(Nodded to the guard. He stood up, touched his forehead and chest, making a cross)
God bless you in your final hours
ELLIE
(Smiled to herself as she watched Elijah leave. Sam and Alec enter after Elijah leaves. Ashe
is heard yelling at Richard outside. Alec's hair is matted and Sam's shirt is untucked)
Oh my god, you two had sex again, didn't you
ALEC
(Smiles)
Like animals
ELLIE
(Clutches her stomach)
Just...kill me now. Just knowing you two are dating is creepy enough
SAM
We're not dating...this is purely physical
ALEC
It's much more than that, sugar lips
SAM
Call me that again, and I'm cutting you off
ALEC
You wouldn't...what would you do without my lovin'
ELLIE
(Shudders at Alec's comment)
Does Ashe know yet?
SAM
No, and he's not going to....is he?
ELLIE
Don't look at me...I'm going to be executed tomorrow...who am I gonna tell?
SAM
That Priest that you were checking out
ELLIE
I wasn't checking him out
SAM
Yes you were...I saw it...not that he's not worth checking out...
ELLIE
(Looks as Sam curiously)
You're in a questionably good mood....I'm siding with Alec on this one...it's more than just
physical
SAM
Rubbish!
ELLIE
Rubbish? What the hell is the matter with you?
ASHE
(Enters the jail cell. To Richard)
No! I am not going to buy you a rifle!
ELLIE
Buy? I thought he would have stolen one by now
RICHARD
I never steal things
SAM
Right, you just happen to "find" things...
RICHARD
Yes
SAM
(rolls eyes)
And you're supposed to be a genius....what is this world coming to?
ASHE
(Gives Ellie a large file)
Here Ellie, I snuck this in for you...
ELLIE
Great, I'll get started right away...I'm sure to be free by next month (Throws the file at
him)...what the hell is wrong with you?!
ASHE
It was all I could get ahold of
ELLIE
I guess I should start saying my prayers now...there is no way you guys are going to save
me...
ASHE
Don't worry, we'll think of something
ELLIE
In time?
ASHE
No promises
ELLIE
That's what I thought...I think I'll have better luck with Elijah
ASHE
The priest?
ELLIE
On the outside...
SAM
What are you talking about?
ELLIE
He told me he's only a priest so these people wouldn't suspect him...
ALEC
Of what? Is he some sort of man witch?
ASHE
That's warlock, Dumbass
ELLIE
He's a Wizard....and he has the Necromonicon
SAM
Are you sure?
ELLIE
He said he was studying it
ALEC
Who would wanna study that thing?
ELLIE
I think you guys should go to him....maybe together you can come up with some sort of plan
SAM
It's worth a shot...plus I think Ellie's kind of sweet on him
ASHE
We're not going to him
ELLIE

ASHE
He fooled this town into believing he's a Priest....who knows what else he's capable of...I don't
trust him
ELLIE
I fooled you guys into thinking I go to Creation every year...what's the difference?
ASHE
I don't trust him...(Looks at Ellie) and neither should you
ELLIE
Why? Just because you don't like the guy, doesn't mean he's evil
ASHE
He is studying the Necromonicon! What kind of person studies a book of the dead?!
ELLIE
You just want to stay because Mia actually notices you here
ASHE
That has nothing to do with it
ELLIE
Ashe, Elijah could help me live!
ASHE

ALEC

ASHE
We're NOT going to him!
ELLIE
Fine, Ashe, I hope you have a nice life here with Mia...because tomorrow I'm going to be
burned at the steak because you won't ask for help. Now get out
ASHE
Ellie...
ELLIE
No, I can't even look at you right now...get out!
SCENE THREE: Town Square. Ellie is tied to a large wooden pole in the center of a pile of
branches and straw. A man dressed in black and wearing a hood approached her. Ashe stood
in the front of the crowd with Alec and Sam. Richard was teaching members of the crowd,
the wave.
ELLIE
(Looks at Ashe)
Some friend you are...I hope you enjoy this...
ASHE
Ellie, I -
CAMPBELL
I've been waiting a long time for this moment...
ASHE
What the? Professor C?
CAMPBELL
Useless primate...(To Ellie) you were always the decent one of the bunch...
ELLIE
So why don't you have Ashe tied to this pole instead of me?
CAMPBELL
(Removes hood)
Because the ladies admire me for upholding justice...
ELLIE
I repeat...why don't you have Ashe tied to this pole instead of me?
CAMPBELL
As tempting as that sounds...the ladies see you as a threat...not that low-life
ASHE
I heard that Professor C
CAMPBELL
Good! Maybe you'll learn something
(Elijah enters in a black robe. He makes eye contact with Ellie for a moment then faces the
crowd)
ELIJAH
We are gathered here today, to free this woman from the devil's grasp...(He turns to face
Ellie. He takes a small sack from inside is robe and opens it)
By the power of the Almighty God, free this woman...(He tosses a black powder on the
branches and straw and speaks in another language. A black swirling cloud forms at Ellie's
feet. It grows and forms a large satanic creature. The crowd gasped and took a couple steps
back. The Creature growled and looked the crowd over. Then something from above seemed
to pull it toward the sky and it dissolved in the air. The crowd stared curiously at Elijah)
Good people...God has saved this woman and spared her life...Now,...
MAN 1
God didn't save her! Death is the only way to save her!
WOMAN 1
Her spirit has to be set free!
ELIJAH
No...The Lord has saved her without death...
MAN 2
That thing came from the ground!
WOMAN 2
The devil has taken Elijah too!
ELIJAH
No...y..you don't understand
MAN 1
Burn him!!
(Crowd roared in agreement. Elijah lifted his hand with a small sack in it. He went to throw
it on the ground and create a large amount of smoke to escape in, when Campbell grabbed his
wrist)
CAMPBELL
Well hello Mr. Fancy pants...Looks like I finally get to mess up that pretty little face of yours
(Campbell and some guards grabbed Elijiah and had him tied up with Ellie)
ELIJAH
(To Ellie)
I'm sorry
ELLIE
It was a good try...
ELIJAH
I don't understand why they didn't go for it...
ELLIE
Welcome to my world
(Campbell lit the branches and straw at they're feet)
ELIJAH
I think I can put out the fire
ELLIE
How?
ELIJAH
A rain spell...(He says some words and a goat appears next to Campbell)
CAMPBELL
Useless primate (Looks at goat)...You'll be my dinner
ELLIE
(Watches the flames grow)
Our situation has not improved
ELIJAH
I know I know...Have you ever done a transportation spell?
ELLIE
No...sorry
ELIJAH
Take my Hand
ELLIE
You're not going to turn me into a goat, are you?
ELIJAH
Trust me...
(She takes his hand)
SAM
(To Ashe)
So, El Capiton...what now?
ASHE
I don't know...
ALEC
So you're just going to watch her die?!
ASHE
Do you have any bright ideas?
ALEC
No
ASHE
Then shut up!
(He watched Elijah and Ellie say something in another language and they disappeared)
What the hell?!
CAMPBELL
Well this is just perfect! (To Ashe) Thanks to you're little friend, I'm gettin' no lovin' tonight
ASHE
What a shame...
ALEC
Where'd they go?
SAM
What do I look like? A mind reader?
ASHE
No but you do look like a Bitch...
SAM
Shutup....lets find Ellie
SCENE FOUR: Ashe, Alec, Sam, and Richard have decided to search the town Church for
Ellie and Eliah.
SAM
Ashe, what makes you think they went here? Don't you think they would have skipped town
by now?
ASHE
Elijah convinced the town he was their Priest, so he'd have to live in this church. I'm betting
he has a secret lab here somewhere
SAM
Secret lab? This is the 1600s!
ASHE
Room...whatever!
ALEC
Why do you want to find the secret room? We're supposed to be looking for Ellie
ASHE
Ellie said he was studying the Necromonicon...he probably is hiding it there
ALEC
So the book is more important than your friend...
ASHE
If Ellie wants to run off with that guy, she can
SAM
Might I remind you, that we need her in order to jump
ASHE
I am aware...
ALEC
I think you're jealous of Elijah
ASHE
(Glares at Alec)
What?
ALEC
Well, he's good looking, and Ellie, you're wife, likes him
ASHE
I don't care about that
ALEC
Right...what was I thinking?
(Ashe glared at him when they heard Richard)
RICHARD
(Heard from inside the confessional)
Forgive me, for I have sinned...
ASHE
That's an understatement
RICHARD
I...hey! The batcave!
(Ashe, Alec, and Sam exchange glances and run over to the confessional. They open the
door to the Priest's side and see Richard sliding the back wall open) I found batman's secret
entrance
ASHE
Out of my way...(He pushed his way past Richard and ran down the passage first. When he
entered a secret room lit by candles, he saw Elijah and Ellie kissing. He stood there quietly
with his arms folded, waiting for them to stop. Sam and Alec stood behind Ashe. Richard
was searching for batman's equipment. Ashe glared at them and cleared his throat. Ellie and
Elijah broke apart and looked at them)
ELLIE
...Hi guys...
ASHE
I'm sorry, was I interrupting?
ELLIE
Ashe, I-
ASHE
Nevermind. We just came for the Necromonicon
ELIJAH
(points to the Necromonicon that was sitting on a desk)
Its over there
ASHE
Why they hell would you study this thing?! Do you any idea what it's capable of?!
ELIJAH
Do you? With that book, one could control the universe, and time as we know it...
ASHE
One more reason to destroy it
ELIJAH
So why don't you then?
ASHE
I would prefer to return to my own time before doing that. (Looks at Ellie who is standing
close to Elijah) Come on Ellie, we're leaving
ELLIE
Elijah's coming with us
ASHE
Like hell he is!
ELLIE
Ashe, its our fault the town is trying to kill him...maybe if you would have gone to him like I
told you to that wouldn't be the case
ASHE
He's not coming with us
ELLIE
Who died and made you the leader?!
SAM
Good point...I vote we let him come
ALEC
Why?
SAM
He could be useful in the rescuing thing...and maybe he'll be the first one who won't lose
Ellie
ALEC
True...and It'd give us more time for....(Smiles at Sam)...OTHER things
SAM
(Elbows him in the gut)
RICHARD
(Walks over to Elijah)
Do you like jeeps?
ELIJAH
What's a jeep?
RICHARD
(Gives him a vacant stare, then leans over to Ashe)
I don't like him
ASHE
Me either
SAM
(to Ashe)
That's a shame...he's coming
ASHE
What?
SAM
Majority rules...he comes
ASHE
How can we be sure to trust him?!
ELLIE
Since when is trust a concern of yours. Sam would kill you any chance she gets, but you
don't mind her being here. Elijah tried to save me before he even knew me...
ASHE
(Glares at Elijah for a moment. He takes a deep breath)
Fine...he can come...
(Ashe takes the Necromonicon and holds it in front of him. Everyone grabs it and they
disappear)
SCENE FIVE: Hiroshima. Group is standing in tight circle. Around them people are running
and screaming. They look down and see the Necromonicon at their feet
ASHE
Huh...that never happened before
ELIJAH
What's going on here?
SAM
Good question
(One of the people ran up to Richard and began speaking to him in another language. To the
group's astonishment, Richard responds back to him in his language. The person ran off)
RICHARD
(Smiles and notices everyone looking at him)
What?
ALEC
What did he say?
RICHARD
What did who say?
ELIJAH
(Looking in the sky curiously)
Does anybody else hear that?
(The group starts to listen)
RICHARD
I remember what he said...he said 'Run! We're being bombed!'
ELLIE
What?!
(Camera shot pans to a head shot of the group. They all look up at the camera and the screen
switches to a picture of a huge mushroom cloud)
