Policies Pertaining to the Protection of Personal Information
In order to fulfill its mission to continuously develop innovative pharmaceuticals and services and respond to medical needs from people of the world, Daiichi Sankyo Company, Limited (hereinafter called the "Company") has been developing innovative technologies and striving for the widespread use of superior products. In the process of performing with such mission, it is required to manage a variety of personal information.(*1) Therefore, in order to protect individual rights and interests by complying with the Law Concerning the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter called the "Personal Information Law") as well as all related laws and regulations, the Company has established the policy below and hereby pledges to manage personal information pursuant to such policy.

The Company shall define, as clearly as possible, its purposes for utilizing personal information, and shall utilize such personal information within the scope of the purposes so stated.
The Company shall acquire personal information through legitimate means. Further, upon acquiring personal information, the Company shall make clear its purposes for utilizing such information, either by notifying the individuals concerned or by public announcement.
In the event that the Company obtains personal information directly from the individual concerned in the form of either written or electronic records, the Company shall clearly specify its purposes of use on such written or electronic records.
The Company shall endeavor to keep personal data(*2) in an accurate and up-to-date condition to the extent necessary to achieve its purposes of use.
In order to securely manage personal data, the Company shall appoint an administrator for protecting personal information, establish regulations to protect from losses, destructions, tampering, or leakage of personal data, and implement proper information security safeguards, including measures against unauthorized access and infection by computer viruses.
The Company shall properly supervise its workers(*3) involved in the management of personal data so as to securely control the personal data.
In case the Company outsources the management of personal data to a third party, the Company shall properly supervise any such third party so as to securely control such personal data.
When disposing of records containing personal information, the Company shall make such records unreadable prior to such disposal.
In order to manage personal information properly, the Company shall devise specific measures, and shall review and revise such measures as appropriate.
The Company shall respond promptly and appropriately to any inquiries and grievances pertaining to the management of personal information.
The Company shall establish "Daiichi Sankyo Group Standards of Conduct for Compliance" and other regulations necessary for the proper management of personal information, implement required worker training and education programs, and revise and update such regulations as necessary.

*3 Workers:
Board members, corporate auditors, and other officers appointed by the Company; full- and part-time employees and non-regular employees of the Company; and temporary staff under supervision by the Company.
