I wanted to know opinions of what I'm planning to do and if you think I will do well. I do not have a bikini body. I am not much overweight, but I am average. I'm 150 lbs but I'm only 5'3. I do plan to wear a bikini if I can find one that hat isn't too revealing for my size. I play the saxophone and clarinet. In past pageants, I have had enough time to play both, but since the talent section is 90 seconds, I can't do that. Which is more competitive? Does it matter what genre I play? Is being an instrumentalist unique? Should I wait to spend money on a nice gown if I were to win the local? I have a very pretty dress that I've worn a few times but I'm not sure how competitive it is. How should I prepare for interview? Thank you so much everyone. Be true to your body type and don't embarrass yourself by trying to get into a two piece. There are many wonderful one piece swimsuits that are flattering to your body type. Secondly, whatever has the most entertainment value and has a very upbeat sound would be my choice for talent. The Sax has many upbeat fun familiar songs the audience can get into. Gowns do not have to be expensive, just find a coach or someone that is NOT just selling you a dress to go with you to find the most flattering dress for your body type and last but most important. Put your energy, time and money on getting your interview down. From hiring a coach, to wardrobe/hair & Makeup, and most of all your communication skills. If you love your body in a sexy two piece, go for it girl. If you feel like a supermodel in a one piece, you do you. Confidence is what matters, not your weight or your height. If you walk out, strut your stuff and show the judges that you have the confidence to be Miss Whatever then DO IT. <3 as a former contest and and titleholder I know this to be true, judges will fall in love with you for your personality, not your body.
