Hi all!
What a first weekend. A huge thank you goes out to the Molzen's for all the hard work that went into getting the arena ready for what I feel was a spectacular first weekend. I also want to thank all the arena and birdhouse help.....we can't do it with out all of you! It was great to get caught up with so many familiar faces but as much fun as that was it was sooo cool to meet and chat with so many new people. I left feeling real good about the long term health of our great organization. Almsost 60% growth.....two new members signed up electronically while we were driving home....almost 300 runs....something we should all be very proud of and excited to be a part of.

We need to keep the momentum going....we shaved a half hour off our completion time on Sunday and I feel we have another half out there....Now let's be sensable about this....we have alot of contestants and we want to make sure we put safety before anything so we should plan for a 7 hour performance.....that being said the more rodeo attire I see in that areana the easier and smoother it will be for all....get involved I promise you it will be worth it. I know...I know some of you are new to rodeo and don't know what to do....been there myself...You will meet some of the nicest people in that arena and they will give you a job to do and teach you how to get it done. I know ....I know some of you are shy .....just show up in rodeo attire and stand by the entry gate and I gaurantee you someone will direct you with a smile. One thing for sure your child will appriciate your help.

The other thing I would ask is for everyone to stay out of the bird house.....wait....except for the people working you guys have to be there...It is a long day for them (thank you) and they have alot going on with a high level of stress and pressure....one hundreth of a second in timing a rodeo is a lifetime. Please give them the ability to concentrate.....if you have questions please see me I am in or around the arena all day....also before or after the rodeo just look for the RV with the dogs and come knocking.....my roll is to make sure you are all comfortable, having fun is a safe competitve enviornment.

Kids you are schedule to work an event, please do so.....SJRA rules state that if you miss your work assignment you lose your points for that rodeo. First weekend is your pass...starting in Live Oak the rule will be inforced....that being said we did a much, much better job on Sunday so I thank you for that.

OK ....wow....what a competitive group....some of you blew me away with how much you have improved....some that I have not seen before made an "I'm here" statement and some of the veterans picked up righ where they left off...so game on.....that being said I must say the yougins and the kids just starting out regardless of age is what grabs me the most. Remember no matter who the person is everyone started at the beinging.....watch the litte successes...feed of them....work hard....listen to your trainers (even if it's mom/dad) and improvement is gauranteed.

finally check the website and chat regularly....we are blessed with a web master and secretary who bleeds for this organization and puts tiredless hours into keeping you all comfortably informed ....

Thank you....God Bless....see you in Live Oak
