Subject: Brazilian Elections

From what I have read, it seems likely that President da Silva will win the election. Considering the amount of scandal he is believed to have been involved in, I find this troubling. Regardless of what his final motives were, crime is crime, and the people should not put a criminal into office. It is an unfortunate situation because, I believe, he using the poor and their desperation to commit crimes while in office. He knows that because of their situation, they will vote for him simply because he was one of them and has tried to help them, and they will ignore any of his wrong doings. Putting this man back into office will only encourage scandal and dishonesty in the presidency. The president should be a man who everyone can look up to and respect. I realize that the poor probably look to him because of everything he has tried to do for them, but in reality, he cannot be trusted. According to what I have read, it seems as though his whole campaign focuses only on the poor, and to me, that only makes him seem like more of a scam. He’s abusing his power, and he will only continue to do so in the future. I realize that the poor need help, and that he is the first president who has tried to do anything for them. However, that doesn’t make him any less of a criminal. Regardless of what he has done for anyone, he cannot be trusted, and he should not be re-elected into office.
