Subject: Brazilian Elections

The Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has been described as a criminal and a giver in the article As Brazilian election nears, scandals fade. Da Silva seems like a man who would like to help everyone in Brazil but can’t find the resources to do it legally. It would appear that he believes that the end justifies the means. This means if da Silva has to perform criminal acts in order to help the poor people of Brazil he will because he believes the law shouldn’t stop him from creating a better life for the poor. If da Silva wants to be reelected I believe that he must convince the voters he is a giver over being a criminal.

The article shows that he has convinced the poor people by helping them out but to the well to do in Brazil all they can see are his criminal acts and they judge him on that. Da Silva has managed to divide the country by only appealing to one group of the population, the poor. If da Silva is reelected I believe this time he should try to help out not only the poor but also the rest of the population and do it legally.
