I agree with you when you said that criem is crime and the president souhld be a man who everyone can look up to and respect. But, I don't think that he is using the poor and their desperation to commit crimes while in office. I saw da Silva made many "little" arrengements to help retired people, to pay people their money which should be paid by Fernando Henrique Cardoso - president before Lula - and it wasn't. He kept Brazil's inflation in +- 3% and in these last 4 years Brazil didn't see any conflict of landless which used to happen a few times in a year. These are just a few examples of good things da Silva made. At the same time, he has his part of guilt in all bad things he had done and nothing can be used as an excuse to comit any kind of crime.
