Subject: Confusing "love"

The idea of a couple being together for over a year and breaking up is not an uncommon thing. When it is agreed upon it can sometimes be for the best, but when it is unexplained that can get confusing. Having an "ex" call just to say how much she still loves you and then disappearing seems to make no sense to me. You can't hook back up because she breaks promises, but because you were with her for quite some time its not that easy to just tell her to go away. Is it still alright to have the person around as a friend or would that just make things even worse? To me it is something that is hard to tell because I do not want to hurt her feelings, but at the same time I dont want to be toyed with.
