In regards to birth control pills, there are different dosages that are taken. The whole point of birth control usage is to strictly prevent pregnancies. However, in order for the birth control pills to be over 90% effective, pills are manufactured with abortifacient chemicals that are a "back up," which further disable the fertilized egg, which is an embryo, to attach to the uterine lining to fully grow. This means, that yes, indeed, there are several negative consequences that can affect the embryo's development and the mother’s health, as well. Therefore, if a woman thinks she may be pregnant, birth control pills must be stopped and should consult her doctor.
