Subject: Homework and Studying

Studying and homework can be overwhelming, especially when you have trouble keeping up with it. If you procrastinate and let homework accumulate, it can be hard to ever get back on track. There are a few things you can do to make sure this doesn’t happen. First, it’s important to make a plan and schedule out everything you have to do. I usually make a list of the homework I know I’ll have for a week, then I write down which days I’ll do it. This way, I can make sure that it will all get done and that it will be scheduled out evenly.

The next step is to stick to that plan! It helps to cross off assignments as you do them, because being able to visualize your progress keeps your spirits up and keeps you going. Do homework in a quiet area with no distractions and take breaks in between assignments. Save the things you would rather be doing for these breaks as an incentive to get through an assignment. For example, decide to make yourself a snack or to turn on the radio for ten minutes at your next break, and work towards that. I guarantee that having this motivation will help you get through your homework, one assignment at a time.

One additional tip for reading or studying is to keep moving. I like to pace around the room when I’m trying to memorize information. This helps because it keeps you awake and from getting restless.

Remember, just try to visualize your work as individual assignments, not as a huge chunk of work. Plan it out carefully and work in an environment conducive to learning. Follow these tips and you’ll be able to get work done quickly and efficiently, leaving plenty of time to do the things you want to do!
