Subject: The Illusions of Online Relationships

The Internet is always a controversial way of meeting people and entering relationships. That is because each person can portray one’s self in the exact way that person wishes to be seen or thought of. Therefore, it is very easy to become infatuated with a person who does not even exist in real life. It is very important to be able to keep a strong connection with the real world, and to not get trapped into virtual relationships. This is not only damaging to one’s social life, but it can also be very dangerous. There are many child predators who lure over the internet in hope of finding children or young teenagers to take advantage of.

Occasional chatting with people of similar age is a good way of interacting with different cultures perspectives, but one must be careful not to fall in love or become obsessed with a virtual person. If one needs friendship or a romantic relationship, there are many clubs and productive activities through which anyone can meet people with common interests and goals.
