Subject: Peer Pressure and Friendship

What is friendship? Who can you consider a friend? How far does friendship go? Friendship certainly involves peer pressure, any way that you’re going to look at it. But not all peer pressure is bad, just when your friends want you to do things that are against your morals is when you need to act up. We have friends for the reason that we choose. To keep us going, to have fun with through the good times while helping us through the bad, that’s friendship. But friends that try to change you for their liking are not friends at all. If your friends drink alcohol or do drugs, and if you are against such things, but they do not respect your decision to not do the same things and then tease you for it, then you need to find new friends. In order to maintain your individuality, morals and values, you need to either make a stand against your friends pressuring you and tell them to respect your decisions, or you need to stop hanging around with them until they understand what you mean. Because if they are your friends, and have been for a while, then I understand that you cannot just simply toss them away so easily. Friends are people you have chosen to bring closer to yourself, and that can be a hard thing to break.
