Subject: Depression

Many teenagers suffer from clinical depression. Whether your boy/girlfriend left you, a family member died, or you're having trouble with friends, depression seriously affects one's life. Teens today though turn to things like drugs and alcohol to ease their pain. This only makes things worse, the last thing you want is to create your own little world because eventually it will all crash down. Also too many teens think they need prescription medication to help them feel normal. My generation has been dubbed "generation Rx" for this reason. Granted many of the teens that takes these pills probably abuse them, but many more simply do not need to get the thought in their head that they need something "extra" just to make it through the day. Kids are becoming dependent on these kinds of drugs. If your depressed the best thing you can do is to exercise. Exercise releases endorphins naturally, you'll become healthier, and you'll get in shape and have a better self image, which will probably boost your confidence. Other than that, talk to your friends and family. Sometimes all you need is to just vent and have someone share their thoughts on the subject. If your depressed don't isolate yourself, it may be hard but try to put yourself out there. Finally, evaluate yourself. Sometimes a simple self reflection can help you see your true problems.
