Opposite Sex Friendships
Most people have friends, and almost everyone has a best friend. My best friend is a guy. His name is Joe and I’ve known him since fifth grade. I can tell him anything, just as he can tell me. Most people think that if you are friends with a person of the opposite sex, there will be “tension” between them. But really there is tension between all people. I mean of course in certain situations, I wouldn’t expect him to understand, but as my friend he at least tries. The biggest issue of having a friend of the opposite sex is when you are dating someone. People seem to get jealous if their boyfriend or girlfriend has friends that are the opposite sex as them because they think there is a competition. What you have to realize is that in cases where people have been friends for a long time, if something were going to happen it probably already would have. People should just stop being so controlling and not expect people to change who they hang out with on account of a relationship.
