Forget "The Apprentice" - disgraced Miss USA Tara Conner gets grilled this morning in a real boardroom showdown with Donald Trump, who will announce an hour later whether the hard-partying hottie will lose her crown.

Conner is scheduled to meet privately with The Donald - who runs the Miss USA pageant - at 10 a.m. in Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue.

Their climactic sit-down comes less than five days after Conner bolted Manhattan as news broke that her tiara-clad head was on the chopping block because of nonstop nightclubbing, man-hunting underage drinking and drug use.

Sources say she had tested positive for cocaine - and others said she was known for "going the extra mile" in club bathrooms.

Trump has said he wants to make sure he treats the small-town Kentucky girl fairly - but also has made clear he is concerned about the pageant's reputation.

Meanwhile, Conner's ex-fianc� told The Post he believes rumors of her cavorting have been "blown out of proportion" by people jealous of the beauty queen.

"That's what's wrong with the world. Everybody puts their nose in other people's business," said Adam Mann, 23, of Jamestown, Ky. He and Conner broke up in August because of the pressures of her busy schedule, which made it difficult for them to spend time together, he said.

Conner's former modeling consultant, Steven Rosenberg, said Trump has a golden opportunity to make himself and the pageant look good - and help Conner - by letting her keep her title so that she can "rehabilitate herself into the best Miss USA ever" and become a role model for girls

"Donald Trump can take a dilapidated building and turn it into a Trump masterpiece. Why can't he do the same for Tara?"
