It is a good, enjoyable film, but the story ain't all that... It does have a good first shot though!

Yeah, yeah... Shut it windbag... Dark Star is a classic and you need to get a sense of humour! ;-)

Obviously the concept is clever! This is why Michael Crichton decided to re-hash it for Jurassic Park... He wrote and directed Westworld, then 20 years later decided that he needed Spielberg schmaltz to get the dollars!

Look at these entries from imdb.com:

Plot Outline: A futuristic amusement park becomes a deathtrap when the androids and computer systems used in it begin to murderously run amok.

Plot Outline: Scientists clone dinosaurs to populate a theme park which suffers a major security breakdown and releases the dinosaurs.

Sound familiar?

Which version of The Thing? The original or the carpenter one?

Star Trek I!!!!!! It's poo. VGER... Hmmm... kiss my boney arse...

I agree on RoboCop though...

>Oh and The Day the Earth Stood Still is not that good

Well... Sci-Fi IS mainly about ideas...

;-)
