Actually Major i suggested these films based on the concepts behind them ( as well as enjoyment and personal taste) especially Event Horizon.

With regards to Soylent Green; yes brilliant as for Dark Star - get real! That film sucked then , sucks now and will still suck in the future!

West World is NOT better than Jurrasic Park , but the concept is clever. The Matrix is brilliant but is basically early philospohical concepts placed in a modern realm so i do agree on that point.

Other greats include The Terminator I ( II and III are SHIT) THX 1138 , The Blob , The Thing, Star Trek I, RoboCop I and many more.

Oh and The Day the Earth Stood Still is not that good but does ( as do the films on my list ) have an excellent concept behind it.
