Knighton & District Tourism Group aims to promote Knighton and district as an attractive tourism venue. In order to achieve this aim it will organise events supporting tourism including an annual Serendipity Festival. It will also improve the tourism facilities available and support others organising events and facilities linked to tourism in the Knighton area.

The first Serendipity Festival is planned to take place from the 12th to the 20th July 2008 inclusive. This will be a series of events and activities celebrating the people and area of the borderlands around Knighton. To date the planned activities include:

* outdoor performance of a Shakespearean play
* an open garden festival
* a series of guided walks including a history walk and a ghost walk
* a wide range of live music
* art and music workshops
* a Jazz Picnic
* Serendipity Medieval Market
* an open day at the Spaceguard Centre
* a ceilidh

The approach taken by the Knighton & District Tourism Group is to ask other existing local groups, societies and other organisations to get involved and organise events or activities as a contribution towards the overall Festival.
