Date Posted: 11/04/08 15:21:35 W.I. members have had a busy February and March. The theme of the February meeting was 'Armchair Aerobics' with Maddie Lavelle. It was most enjoyable, something in which all groups and ages can take part. Shirley Moorhouse, Julie Read and Margaret Johnson went to the WI bingo evening. Julie and Margaret were winners. A most pleasant evening, getting together with other WI's in Radnor and Powys. Members are writing ghost stories for Lady Denman Cup Competition 2008. The March meeting was one all members look forward to : an evening of silk painting with Julia Roberts. The large painting it is hoped will be put to good use either at WI or in the community. Two small paintings were made. These will be sent to two members who at this time are unable to attend WI. The competition in March was a small spring flower arrangement. The winner was Diane Edwards. Olive Waters and Margaret Johnson attended a WI Dance Taster day at Crossgates Community Centre. On offer was ballroom, salsa and circle dancing. In April it is hoped to go by train to Swansea. The April meeting is April 2nd. A talk by Dorothy Rawlings and Joan Musaheb on their world cruise. M. Johnson.
